Add Prizes & Configure Prize Settings

1. Go to the "Gamification" section within Pass Setup

2. Click "+ Add Prize" (Or if you're editing an existing pass, click "Manage Prizes")

3. Select the Prize(s) you want to include on this pass

4. Click "Save Changes"

Then, review and update the following settings:

  • Redemption Cost: How many points are required to redeem the prize

  • Redemption Limit: How many times a single user can claim this prize

Points Settings

Define how passholders earn points throughout the experience.

  • Default Points: Points awarded for standard check-ins

  • Sign-Up Bonus (optional): Points awarded when a user signs up for the pass

  • Referral Reward (optional): Points awarded when a user refers a friend and the friend signs up for a pass (learn more here!)

  • Voucher & Coupon Points (optional): Assign point values to activities with validation methods. These are awarded upon redemption, in addition to check-in points

Point Expiration

By default, points expire when the pass expires. To customize this:

  1. Toggle on the Point Expiration Section

  2. Choose one of the following options:

  • Upon Pass Expiration: Points expire at the same time as the pass

  • X Days After Expiration: Adds a buffer period for final redemptions (updates dynamically if the pass expiration changes)

  • Specific Date: Set a fixed expiration date before or after the pass ends

    • Disclaimer: Adjusting pass dates without updating the specific date for points expiration may lead to inconsistencies. Be sure both are aligned to the same dates.

Custom Points (Optional)

Enable Custom Points to assign higher values to specific locations or activities.

Disclaimer: Changes will apply only to points that have been customized. All other point values will continue to use the default configuration.

No need to configure Custom Points if you’re sticking with the default point value—just move ahead!

Final Step

Click Save Changes to apply all updates.

✨ Bandwango Pro Tips

Keep things fresh! Update your gamification settings after launch to roll out limited-time promotions, add new rewards, and give passholders a reason to keep coming back.

Keep your audience in the loop! Leverage Bandwango’s passholder messaging tools to communicate any gamification updates or changes in real time.

Leverage reports for insights! Regularly checking the Prize Shipment Report helps ensure your prizes are redeemed and fulfilled correctly. Staying updated with redemption data can improve user satisfaction and program success.

More is more! Think about points on your Bandwango passes like credit card points or airline miles -- 100 points per check-in feels like it has more value than 1 point.

Think about the math. Do you want people to be able to redeem every prize if they want to? Then you'll need to make sure that there are enough points available on the pass. Points work on a balance -- if I have 1000 and redeem a prize that costs 400, I'll have 600 remaining.

Removing Prizes

To remove a prize from a pass:

  1. Click the three dots next to the prize

  2. Select Remove

This removes the prize from the Rewards tab immediately but does not affect reporting for users who have already redeemed it.

Best practice: Always fulfill prizes that were redeemed prior to removal.

Managing Prize Redemptions

Use the Prize Shipment Report in your dashboard to track and manage redemptions:

  1. Navigate to the Reports Section under "Data Analytics"

  2. Select Prize Shipment Report

  3. Filter by prize or program

  4. Review redemption dates and shipment statuses

Pro Tip: Monitor this report regularly and fulfill pending prizes promptly to improve user experience.
