How to send and schedule passholder messages in Bandwango Experience Builder.

Messaging Overview

The Bandwango Experience Builder now includes the ability for you to send and schedule messages directly to your customers. This feature supports targeted communication by requiring messages to be sent to an existing customer segment, helping you deliver timely and relevant updates, promotions, or reminders with ease.

📚 Before Sending Your First Message...

To send messages in Experience Builder, you must use an existing customer segment. Messages can be sent to users who are included in the segment or specifically excluded from it.

⚠️ NOTICE ABOUT MESSAGING

  • Text and emails will only send to passholders that have opted-in to receive promotional material.

  • In-pass messages will send to all users.

  • Emojis are not compatible with messaging at this time.

How to Create & Schedule Messages:

  1. Click Messaging on the lefthand navigation menu.

  2. Click + New Message.

  3. Enter a Name for the message.

  4. Select the Send Method.

  5. Compose Your Message

    1. If available, enter a Subject

    2. If available, enter optional Header Text

    3. Compose your Message.

    4. If available, add an optional image.

  6. Select the Customer Segment(s) to send this message to.

    1. Click, +Add a Segment

    2. Select a Segment.
      You can send to multiple segments, or just one.

    3. Select if the message will send to users that are included or excluded from the selected segment(s).

  7. Optionally, send yourself a Test Message

    1. Choose Send a Test from the dropdown at the top of the page.

      1. Email: enter your email address

      2. Text: enter your phone number

      3. Pass Feed: enter your email address,
        NOTE: you must sign up for the pass to see the in-feed test message.

  8. Schedule your Message

    1. Choose Schedule from the dropdown.

    2. Choose the Send Frequency.

      1. One Time

      2. Multiple Times

    3. Choose a Send Date.

    4. Choose Send Time.

    5. If sending multiple messages...

      1. Select a Number of Resends

      2. Select Resend Frequency

      3. Choose if users receive this message once per user or multiple times.


Understanding Message Variables

Use message variables help personalize and enhance your communications in Experience Builder.

  • You can use tags like {{customerFirstName}} or {{customerName}} to greet recipients by name, making messages feel more direct and engaging.

  • Include the customer’s mobile pass link with {{dashboardUrl}} for easy access.

  • To respect customer preferences, add {{unsubscribeLink}} so users can opt out if they choose.

These variables can make your messages more relevant, actionable, and customer-friendly.
