What are Message Lists?

Message Lists are used to create opt-ins in your checkout flow. You can access contact lists in Reports for all of your messaging or contact list-building needs.

Passholder Messaging Requests

  • At this time passholder messaging requests must still be submitted to the Bandwango team via the Help Center widget on the bottom left of the website.

  • This functionality is currently in development for you to complete yourself!

How do I edit/create a Message List?

To create a new Message List, choose the Message Lists option in the Global menu.

You will then see a list of all Message Lists that have been created for your use. Just like the Places and Things pages, this is a library.

If you need to adjust wording for a current Message List, you can click the pencil icon to make those changes. However, the intent of the List must stay the same.

Do not update an Message List if you need to start collecting opt-ins for a new reason. Any change you make to the List will reflect in Reports, so if you change the title it will also change the Report and you will not be able to differentiate information from before and after the change.

If you want to start collecting information for a new reason, you can create a new Message List by clicking the green '+ New List' button. Once created, you can preview it by clicking the pink preview button.

How to I add the Message List to checkout?

Now that you've created your list, you need to add it to the Channel so that passholders will see it during the checkout flow.

First, open your Channel and select the Message Lists page.

On this page, you can add your new Message List, delete any that are unneeded, and reorder them.

Bandwango Pro Tip✨

You should always have a Message List that reads, "I would like to receive news & information about my pass.". This allows you to send messaging about the pass (reminders to attend an event, new prize alerts, etc.). Then, you can create as many marketing opt-ins as you'd like for your organization and your partners!
