Understanding New Terminology in EB 2.0

This guide will help you understand how key terms from the previous admin map to the new interface.

With the release of our new user interface, several terms and navigation items have been updated to simplify the experience and better reflect how you build and manage programs. While many names have changed, the core functionality remains the same.

Passes (formerly “Deals” or “Campaigns”)

New term: Passes
Previously: Deals

Passes are now the central starting point for building your program. This is where you:

  • Create and name your pass

  • Configure the overall experience

  • Manage all associated content and settings

If you were previously working with Deals, Offers, or Campaigns, you will now use Passes instead.

Places (formerly “Venues”)

A Place represents the physical location a pass holder visits (e.g., a business, attraction, or venue).

Before adding any offers or experiences, you must first create a Place.

Activities (formerly “Things to do“ or “Products”)

New term: Activities
Previously: Things to Do, Products

Activities are what the user receives or experiences at a Place. This includes:

  • Discounts

  • Offers

  • Deals

  • Check-ins

  • Quiz Check-ins

  • Culinary

All Activities must be tied to a Place. Once a Place is created, you can add one or more Activities to that place.

Promotions (Promo Codes)

Promotions continue to exist and are used to create promo codes for both paid and free experiences.

Messaging

Messaging has been simplified to make it easier to communicate with your passholders. What was previously limited to our old system is now available directly to partners.

‼️ IMPORTANT ‼️

To send a message in the system, you must first create a Segment. ꜜ

Segments

Segments are groups of customers based on shared attributes or behaviors. You can use segments to better target communications and understand your audience.

Requests (formerly “Merchant Requests” or “Invites“)

Requests are used to invite or prompt merchants to participate by adding an Activity to a pass. This replaces what was previously referred to as merchant requests or invites.

Please note: this feature is not currently available to partners.
Stay tuned - it's coming soon!

Transactions

The standalone Transactions list is no longer available in the same way as before. Transaction-related insights are now incorporated into reporting and other areas of the platform.

Reports

Reports remain largely unchanged in functionality, though they are now located further down in the navigation. You can still access key performance data and insights as you did previously.

Navigation Changes

In the previous admin, some features were grouped under Inventory in the left-hand navigation.

In the new interface:

  • These features still exist

  • They have been reorganized and renamed

  • They are grouped more intuitively based on workflow

While the layout may look different, you will find all the same capabilities—now streamlined for a more efficient experience.
